Workshop 11B - Developing CharactersIn terms of character design, there can be two playable versions of the orphan: one when she was still young and one when she is older (e.g. 25 years old), which is when she starts to fight against the aliens. When in combat, she may start to have flashbacks to the exact moment her parents got killed in front of her, which will hinder her movement for a short period. In terms of her strength, she will probably start as being weak, but over time, she will become stronger (similar to leveling up in RPGs).

Workshop 11A - Writing a Game StoryPart 1 The RPG game I really enjoy playing is an ARPG called Path of Exile. In this game, you take the role of an exile who gets washed up on Wraeclast, which is the main setting of the game. As you progress through the story (with 10 'Acts'), you will level up and become stronger while acquiring stronger equipment. For the first five acts of the game, you will learn more about the story of the game (including the stories of characters that you will fight against as bosses at the end of each act). For the last 5 acts of the game, players will revisit the places they visited in the first 5 acts (but the places themselves are corrupted because of Kitava). Kitava, who is the final boss for each half of the game, is the god of Corruption and is able to consume and corrupt souls. Part 2 (A game that involves an orphan and a catastrophic event)
This game can be a third-person exploration/action game. The story can involve an alien invasion that wiped out most of the human population (catastrophic event), including a girl's parents (orphan). When the girl grows up, she will lead a team to fight the aliens. Workshop 5 - Board Game MechanicsMechanics where I have not played any games
Games I have played that use the mechanic
Mechanics that I enjoy Area Control
Mechanics that I dislike
Personally, I do not dislike any of the mechanics listed. However, there are some mechanics that I do not enjoy as much as compared to those which I enjoy. Roll & Move
Workshop 4 - Board GamesThe board games I selected to play with my friends are King of Tokyo and Love Letter. King of Tokyo is a board game which involves you fighting other monsters or robots to be the King of Tokyo. To win this game, players need to get 20 points or be the last one standing. At the start of each turn, players can roll dice to potentially win points, gain health, energy or get the ability to deal damage. Players can also choose to reroll some of the dice for up to 2 times while keeping the rest to try to get a better combination of dice. However, when a player is in the 'Tokyo' spot, they cannot heal themselves, but can damage all other players. Energy gained can be used to obtain a card which can affect the gameplay. I really enjoyed playing this game with my friends because its mechanics are relatively simple yet fun. Even though there is some luck involved because of the use of dice, some strategy and decision-making is also needed to decide which dice to keep and reroll. Love Letter is a game which involves risk, deduction and luck. The main story of Love Letter is about you relying on others to get your love letter to the princess. At the start of each turn, players have to draw and play a card, and a card's effect will be activated when played. You win the round when you are the only player left or when the number of your card is the largest when there are no cards left. A player can only win the game after winning 3 such rounds. I enjoyed playing this game with my friends because it requires some thinking/strategy for a relatively simple game. Since every player is given a card that shows the number of each type of card, players can use that to think of the possibility of you having a certain card. Also, gameplay does not take a large amount of time, so multiple rounds can be played.
